At first, I thought that RightFont would allow me to turn fonts on and off within its interface, but it’s not really set-up that way. The app will open a window that shows you all your local fonts. You can then search based on style, weight or width of font and immediately select it for use within another app. Currently, RightFont is within the beta stages of development and as such, it only works with Photoshop and Sketch 3, but developers are anticipating support for Adobe InDesign and Illustrator soon.

The RightFont 5 also lets you change Font Preview and Font Size real-time. Apart from turning fonts on/off, the app will also let you preview the local fonts. You can use the fonts on Photoshop by simply selecting a layer and double-clicking on a font. Right Font 5 also lets you share fonts via cloud services like Dropbox and Google Drive.

FontExplorer X Pro is macOS-only and it comes at a price of 89 Euros. We have a middle stand here, since the features are more enterprise-oriented. It’s hard to decide whether individual designers would need one tool like this.
